Thinking of meaning is meaningless.

Then I applied myself to the understanding
of wisdom, and also of madness and folly, but I learned that this, too, is
chasing after the wind.

God gives some people wealth, possessions and honour,
so that they lack nothing their hearts desire, but God does not grant them the
ability to enjoy them, and strangers enjoy them instead. This is meaningless, a
grievous evil.
Satisfying desire is meaningless.

the righteous

Part 3 – Something to
be acknowledged
What to do: Thinking about death/ending is
better than chasing after temporary enjoyment.

The heart of wise is in the house of mourning
Even in laughter the heart may ache, and joy may
end in grief. (Proverbs 14:13)
Explanation in NIV Study Bible:
Life is a tragedy. Even if we strive hard for joy, we cannot escape from this
tragic ending. No matter happiness or sadness there will be an end. Joy can end
in grief.
Acknowledge that no human being has the
ultimate authority/power.

But it will finally be well for those who
fear God.
